A 14-year-old is in a critical condition following a fatal car crash in the eastern Bay of Plenty.
The crash involving two cars carrying 10 people happened in a remote settlement on Copenhagen Road, north of Te Kaha, about 9pm on Friday.
The boy was one of eight people flown by helicopters to hospital following the collision. One man died at the scene.
Three other children are in a stable condition in hospitals in the region.
