Christchurch police have confirmed the body found in the Port Hills at the weekend is that of Emma Campbell, who had been missing since May 2010.
Miss Campbell's body was found by a possum hunter in dense bush near Dyers Pass Road on Saturday.
Detective Senior Sergeant, John Rae says Miss Campbell's dental records revealed her identity during a post mortem examination on Tuesday.
Miss Campbell's body has now been released to her family.
