Police in Christchurch are looking for the driver of a vehicle who hit a 100-year-old woman as she crossed the road.
Police say she was hit on Office Road in Merivale at 10.45am, as the driver was reversing into a carpark on the street.
The driver helped the woman after the accident, but then left without leaving any contact details.
The woman was initially taken to a local medical centre, but has since been admitted to hospital.
Constable Dominic Robinson says they want to speak to the driver, who is described as a tall, middle-aged Pakeha man who was driving a modern four-wheel-drive vehicle.
