A house in the South Canterbury town of Rangitata has been badly damaged in a fire.
The Fire Service says by the time it was contacted about 3.30pm on Tuesday, the house was well involved in fire.
Three people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but did not require further treatment.
The fire has been controlled, but two tankers and two pumps remained at the site.
