Oceania workers march on head office

4:48 pm on 14 March 2012

About 250 aged care workers marched to Oceania's headquarters in Auckland on Wednesday, to again bring attention to their dispute.

Some 1500 Oceania employees have been in a dispute with the provider for nearly nine months.

Workers have been asking for a 3.5% pay rise and for all Government funding to be used to pay staff, as most other providers do.

Elsewhere in the country, members from 55 rest homes met for two hours to discuss Oceania's current pay offer.

Oceania says it was disappointed to find Auckland workers used the two hours to rally outside the company's office, instead of discussing the offer.
