Two people have been taken to hospital after a fire at a suspected drugs lab in West Auckland.
Fire crews were called to the fire at a two-storey apartment in Hobsonville Road at about 6.20am on Thursday.
Fire Service Waitemata area commander Dennis O'Donoghue says those in the apartment did not call emergency services immediately, as they tried to put the fire out themselves.
He says one person tried to treat their burns in the shower.
The Fire Service says two people were taken to hospital and one other left the property after crews arrived.
Police are investigating, after drug making paraphernalia and chemicals were found inside.
