Erosion in trust seen by commission

The Privacy Commission says people are losing trust in the Government's ability to protect their personal information.

In the latest incident, the Transport Agency has circulated about 1000 e-mail addresses belonging to people who have a special account to pay highway tolls.

The emails were sent to notify account holders whose credit cards had failed to top up automatically, but included the names and addresses of other account holders.
