Two people charged with the kidnapping of a Mangere woman on Tuesday have been granted bail in Hamilton District Court.
Linda Budd, 37, and Jaedyn Kaka, 19, both from Hamilton, are charged with kidnapping with the aim of holding a person for ransom.
No pleas were entered but their lawyers said their clients were not involved.
Police say that an Asian woman was taken bound and blindfolded from her home in Mangere and held against her will in a shed on a property in the suburb of Nawton, Hamilton.
She managed to escape and raise the alarm.
Two other people also face a charge of kidnapping in relation to the incident.
