Flight of the Conchords picks up music nominations

Grammy Award winning folk-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords picked up several nominations for this year's New Zealand Music Awards.

Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement have been nominated as finalists for best group, album of the year and artist of the year.

Wellington group Phoenix Foundation and Melbourne-based Shihad are also finalists in the best group category, as well as the single of the year and rock album sections.

Liam Finn has five nominations including best male solo artist, while Tiki Taane has seven nominations including best Maori album for Past, Present, Future.

The winners will be announced in Auckland next month.
