An Auckland lawyer and former Maori Party candidate who faces charges in relation to helping a convicted killer has lost her fight for name suppression.
Davina Murray is charged with providing Liam Reid with an iPhone, a packet of cigarettes and a lighter.
She also faces a charge of communicating with Reid in a way that could prejudice the safety of another prisoner.
Ms Murray was number six on the Maori Party list for the 2011 election.
She had been denied name suppression but had appealed to the High Court. The appeal was dismissed on Monday.
Speaking outside court, Ms Murray said she would will fight the charges against her.
Ms Murray said she is working with Reid, who she says is innocent of the murder of deaf Christchurch woman Emma Agnew, to clear his name
