Internet service provider TelstraClear says it issued a third and final enforcement notice to a customer last Thursday, after being instructed to do so by the Recording Industry Association.
The customer has been given two weeks to dispute the notice and could be fined up to $15,000 if the tribunal decides to take action.
Internet New Zealand says it is surprised it has taken this long for a third warning to be issued, and this could be because savvy internet users are finding ways around the law.
