PSA to meet Commissioner

11:58 am on 21 April 2012

The Public Service Association will meet the State Services Commissioner next week to reiterate concerns about his decision to let the head of the Department of Building and Housing keep her job.

PSA national secretary Brenda Pilott has accused Ian Rennie of double standards with his decision to let off Katrina Bach with a warning and docking her performance pay for swearing at a staff member and putting her hands on their head.

She says the PSA deals with similar cases by public servants every year and the person is usually sacked because of it.

Ms Pilott says the PSA will also meet members who will be working under Ms Bach about how they feel about her return.

Mr Rennie disagrees with the accusation of double standards, saying the PSA was not privy to all the information that he was, in determining a decision.
