A cyclist has escaped with minor injuries after being hit by a train in Auckland.

Police were called to the scene near St Lukes Road just before 8am on Monday.

They say the woman suffered a broken ankle, cuts and bruises.

Inspector Ben Offner says there was some delay for passengers who had to wait for a train driver replacement before the service resumed.
