Jury in Emily Longley trial shown CCTV footage

11:17 am on 26 April 2012

The jury in the trial of a man accused of murdering Emily Longley has been shown security camera footage of her last night out.

Ms Longley's boyfriend Elliot Turner, 20, has denied the murder charge at his trial at Winchester Crown Court in Hampshire.

The New Zealand teenager was found dead in his bed at the house he shared with his parents in Bournemouth last May.

Winchester Crown Court was shown CCTV of the 17-year-old arriving at a cafe the night before she died.

She had argued with Mr Turner and had chosen to go alone with friends.

Prosecution witness Oliver George, 18, a mutual friend, said Mr Turner had criticised Emily, saying she was dressed inappropriately and would attract other boys.

She told him she would wear whatever she wanted.

The footage then went on to show Mr Turner arriving at the same venue later that night, and when Ms Longley left shortly after, Mr Turner tried to follow her.

Mr George told the court Mr Turner was shouting "she's ruined my life, she's twisted my heart".

Jurors also read text messages from Emily Longley's friends claiming the defendant had "had a hissy fit" and tried to punch her, the BBC reports.
