A coroner has found that a Masterton woman died at her home in late 2009 from a methadone overdose.
Wellington Coroner Ian Smith says Maureen Rebecca Moenoa, known as Becky, had been on a methadone programme since 1995.
Mr Smith says Ms Moenoa had taken an excessive quantity of methadone.
Ms Moenoa also had Hepatitis C and had been known to associate at times with people who took drugs such as methamphetamine, or P.
The coroner said there were no illicit drugs in her system when she died.
