Hawke's Bay beats Counties-Manukau - rugby

Hawke's Bay have beaten Counties-Manukau 45 points to 14 in their Air New Zealand Cup rugby match in Pukekohe.

The visitors led 28-14 at half time and scored 6 tries to 2 with fullback Israel Dagg scoring a hat-trick.

The result takes Hawke's Bay up to third in the standings, while Counties-Manukau remain bottom of the table.

Wellington top the table with 35 points, Canterbury have 28, Hawke's Bay and Bay of Plenty 24, Southland 20, Auckland 17, Tasman 16, Waikato and Otago 15, Taranaki 14, North Harbour 12, Northland and Manawatu 8 and Counties Manukau 5.

Next weekend Wellington challenge Auckland for the Ranfurly Shield, Canterbury play Bay of Plenty and Hawke's Bay play Waikato.
