Mental health watchdog website lists first cases

A website set up to "name and shame" mental health workers has begun listing cases.

Auckland counsellor Steve Taylor started the Psychwatch site in July to identify mental health professionals he believes have acted with negligence or incompetence.

Mr Taylor has now named a liaison team member at Auckland's North Shore Hospital who he says dealt arrogantly with a client he referred for assessment before wrongly discharging her.

He says he has complained to Waitemata District Health Board several times, but has not received a satisfactory response.

The health board says it has never had a complaint from the client involved, and has not heard details of Mr Taylor's concerns despite trying to meet him several times.
