Dunedin stadium boss to quit

The executive who runs Dunedin's Forsyth Barr sports stadium has announced he will leave his position.

David Davies says he is returning to England for family reasons.

Dunedin Venues Limited board chairman Sir John Hansen says Mr Davies has given the board notice of his intention to leave next March.

Mr Davies' appointment in 2009 was seen as crucial to the success of the venue and he was instrumental in attracting Elton John to perform last year.

Mr Hansen says there is plenty of time to find a successor and the recruitment process will be international.
