An boy has died in the Waikato town of Te Aroha after a free-standing stove apparently fell on him.
Emergency services were called to the house just after 7am on Sunday.
Senior Sergeant Rod Carpinter says a free standing stove appears to have fallen on top of an 18-month-old boy.
There will be a post-mortem on Sunday afternoon, the results of which are expected to be issued on Monday.
