The ASB Community Trust has made the final grants from a $20 million fund for innovative solutions to Maori and Pacific educational underachievement.

Five groups in Northland and Auckland share the latest grants totalling $4 million.

Chief executive Jenny Gill says all have proven track records but need help to keep going or expand.

Recipients include an e-learning project in Tamaki and a new hi-tech academy in Otara.

Other grants have gone to Auckland University's Starpath project and Maclaurin young leaders programme.

A joint venture between five Auckland tertiary providers also gets money for a project that links Maori students with apprenticeships, cadetships and jobs.
