Police have released the name of the 66-year-old man whose body was found in a Napier house on Tuesday.
He was James David Elliott, of Bluff Hill.
Provisional post-mortem results indicate that he died from head injuries.
However, police say they cannot confirm whether the death is suspicious or not until a full scene examination has been completed, which is expected to take several days.
