A 33-year-old Nelson man has died in an accident on board a ship at Port Nelson.
Police were called to the Talley's-owned vessel MJ Souza just after 10am on Saturday after the man had fallen from the deck where he was working through an open hold.
The man's colleagues and the ship's captain rushed to his aid, and the police and workmates performed CPR for about 40 minutes, but the man died at the scene.
