Electricity has been restored to 1500 customers affected by a power outage in central Dunedin.
A contractor digging in York Place just after 11am on Monday damaged a power cable on the Aurora Energy network, cutting the power supply.
The Civic Centre and Dunedin Public Library had to be closed.
Aurora Energy now says power has been now restored and an investigation has begun into what caused the outage.
