A section of State Highway 1 in the Northland town of Towai remains closed after a fatal crash on Tuesday afternoon.
A person died when a logging truck collided with a car at about 3pm just south of Ruapekapeka Road.
Emergency services are at the scene and road diversions are expected to remain in place for some time.
