A 24-year-old man was stabbed in the back during an attack in Hamilton.
The man was attending a 21st birthday party in Mahoe Street on Friday night when the attack took place.
He is in a stable condition at Waikato Hospital where he was to undergo surgery on Saturday.
A 23-year-old man was to appear in the Hamilton District Court on Saturday charged with wounding with intent.
