Man accused of stealing Westpac millions in court

The man accused of stealing more than $6 million from Westpac Bank has appeared in the Rotorua District Court on Tuesday.

Hui Gao, who prefers to be known as Leo Gao, faces 16 charges of theft and two of money laundering.

Last week a jury found Kara Hurring, who was Mr Gao's partner at the time the alleged offences occurred, guilty of 30 counts of theft and money laundering.

Mr Gao will next appear in court on 14 June.
