Fears held for missing Christchurch woman

Police in Christchurch have serious concerns for the safety of a woman who has not been seen or heard from in a week.

There has been no sign of Tisha Lowry, 28, since around midday last Thursday. She was reported missing on Sunday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Virginia LeBas said the time frame and lack of communication with her family has them worried.

She said the woman does not have a bank account but had some money with her at the time she disappeared.

Police say people have been phoning in with possible sightings of Ms Lowry in the Christchurch area in the past few days. They are appealing for anyone who may have seen her to come forward.

Police are examining the house in Hampshire Street in the suburb of Aranui where Tisha lives with her grandfather.

Ms Lowry's mother, Tanya, says she has no idea what has happened to her daughter but the family is desperate for her return.
