Canterbury DHB wants hospital equipment returned

Christchurch hospitals are appealing for the return of loan equipment after running low since the earthquakes.

The Canterbury District Health Board wants to ensure that hospitals are well-stocked over the winter.

Overdue equipment includes wheelchairs, crutches, shower stools, commodes, seats and walking frames.

Spokesperson Stella Ward says the quakes have caused a big distraction to people and the DHB understands that they may have forgotten to return borrowed items.

However, Ms Ward says even if equipment has been lost in quake-damaged homes, it would still like to know.
