A truck has rolled State Highway 1 through the Ngauranga Gorge, north of Wellington, forcing the closure of southbound lanes.
Police in Wellington say the truck carrying vegetables crashed just before the flyover about 5am on Saturday.
One lane was blocked by the crash and others had to be closed to allow heavy lifting equipment to be brought in to remove the vehicle.
Police say children were travelling in the truck, but have been pulled out safely.
The affected lanes were reopened later in the morning.
