An elderly woman has died in a house fire on the southern outskirts of Auckland.
Firefighters were called to the property on Harry Dreadon Road in the semi-rural area of Opaheke about 3am on Sunday.
Two other occupants of the house escaped from the fire and were taken by ambulance to Middlemore Hospital with minor injuries.
An investigator from the fire service attended the scene and was to return in daylight to seek more evidence of the cause of the blaze.
