Concern for missing Vietnamese man

7:13 am on 7 October 2008

Police in Wellington are concerned about an elderly Vietnamese man who has been missing from his home since late August.

He has been missing from his home in the inner suburb of Mt Cook since 21 August.

Detective Sergeant Jason Perry says Do Trieu frequently visits Auckland to see friends in the Vietnamese community.

However, it is unusual for him to spend such a long time away without contacting his family in Wellington.

Mr Do, 68, may be staying with friends in the Vietnamese community in the Auckland area and police would like to hear from anyone with news of his whereabouts.

Mr Do is in reasonable health. He is approximately 1.55 metres tall and is of medium build.
