A man charged with interfering with human remains is to appear in Auckland District Court.
He was arrested on Tuesday night as part of the investigation into incomplete skeletal remains found in a derelict house in Barrack Road, Mt Wellington, in September last year.
Police believe they know the identity of the dead person and are in the process of notifying his next of kin.
The person had not been reported missing. It is believed he died in 2010.
