A trial date has been set for a man accused of killing a baby in Ngaruawahia last year.
Matthew Ellery, 21, is accused of the murder of Serenity Jay Scott, aged six months on 26 April, 2011.
The girl died in hospital two days after being found unresponsive at her home.
Mr Ellery was the boyfriend of Serenity's mother, but not the girl's father.
He appeared in the High Court in Hamilton on Friday morning.
His trial will begin on 4 March next year.
