School bus driver faces charges

Christchurch police have charged the driver of a bus that crashed into a local rail overbridge last month.

The bus was carrying 20 children from Woolston School and hit an overhead rail bridge on Richardson Terrace, in Woolston.

Eight children and one adult were treated for minor injuries at Christchurch hospital.

The driver has been charged with careless use of a motor vehicle.
