Missing tramper found

8:02 pm on 19 June 2012

A tramper missing for three days in the Hunua Ranges, south of Auckland, has been found.

Sergeant Dene Duthie, who headed the search for Ronnie Fong, 36, says search dogs tracked him down shortly before 7pm Tuesday evening.

He says Mr Fong has been assessed by medics and, aside from having injured feet, is in good health.

At least 100 people have been involved in the search for the tramper who has been missing since Saturday.

Sergeant Duthie says it appears Mr Fong lost his way when the track became unclear, and was not able to find it again.
