Public Health officials have confirmed an outbreak of norovirus at a retirement village in Auckland where two people have died.
Two more possible cases have been identified.
A residential hospital wing at St Andrews Village in Glendowie has been isolated after 15 people fell ill.
The Regional Public Health Service says tests have confirmed the outbreak as norovirus, which is a highly infectious form of gastroenteritis.
An elderly man and woman, who had pre-existing medical conditions, have died.
The Regional Public Health Service says all possible measures are in place to stop the norovirus from spreading.
