The industrial chemical melamine has been found in packs of biscuits and a milk drink sold in New Zealand.
The substance has been identified in Chinese-imported Lotte Koala strawberry and chocolate biscuits, Q-show biscuits and 220-millilitre bottles of Wahaha AD milk drink.
The Food Safety Authority says the products have been withdrawn from sale, but they pose little risk to consumers.
It says a child would need to regularly eat 10 packets a day of the Lotte Koala biscuits, just to reach the daily tolerable intake of the chemical.
