Clothes and a shotgun belonging to a missing pig hunter have been found by searchers on a riverbank in south Waikato.
Police have been searching for Kevin Hayward who went into a forest near the Waipapa Dam on Monday and was due back the following day.
Police say the 41-year-old is an experienced hunter, but rarely stays out overnight.
Search coordinator Senior Sergeant Barry Shepherd says some of the hunter's belongings were found on Friday afternoon about 2km upstream from the dam.
Two of his five dogs have already been located. The others were found on the other side of the riverbank on Friday and the police dive squad has been called in, Mr Shepherd says.
The squad is expected to join the search on Saturday morning together with the harbourmaster.
