The Fire Service says only a small number of incidents were reported during Guy Fawkes celebrations on Wednesday night.
It attributes this to restricting the sale of fireworks to four days.
Wet weather was also a deterrent.
Firefighters attended only about 50 calls in the upper North Island and the majority of reports came from neighbours who were concerned about bonfires.
