MacDonald to be sentenced on 6 charges

The man found not guilty of murdering his brother in law last month will appear in September in the High Court at Palmerston North for sentencing on six criminal charges.

Ewen Macdonald, 32, was last month acquitted in the High Court at Wellington of murdering his brother-in-law, Scott Guy, over a dispute about the family farm at Feilding in 2010.

Mr Macdonald made a brief appearance on Tuesday afternoon in the Palmerston North District Court, where a sentencing date of 14 September was set for him.

He will be sentenced on six criminal charges, three of which remain suppressed.

Mr Macdonald pleaded guilty to charges relating to poaching and vandalism.
