Updated at 4:48 am on 3 August 2012

The sole survivor of a crash that killed four Argentine tourists in the central North Island has been discharged from hospital and will return to Chile.

Benjamin Blake, 25, was the only person to survive the crash in National Park in July when the car he was in overtook another vehicle and collided with a truck.

Agustin Donofrio, German Caceres, Nicolas Ursic and Luciano Pucheta all died in the accident.

Mr Blake was taken to Waikato hospital and has been there since.

He was discharged on Thursday morning and is returning to Chile with his father and his girlfriend.
