Flooding is causing some problems on State Highway 1 in Marlborough.
Earlier, the New Zealand Transport Agency said a slip south of the town of Ward had closed the road late on Wednesday night.
The road has partially reopened, but there is a report of another slip in the area early on Thursday.
Police say Transport Agency staff are checking the situation.
