Black Caps lose opening cricket test to Australia

The Black Caps lost the opening cricket test against Australia by 149 runs in Brisbane on Sunday.

It took Australia less than an hour on day four to wrap up the first cricket test.

Resuming at 143 for six needing 327 to win, the Black Caps have been dismissed for 177, giving the hosts a 149 run.

The skipper Dan Vettori was dismissed for 10, Ross Taylor for 75, Ian O'Brien 3 and Chris Martin 1.

Tim Southee was left unbeaten on 12 after clubbing two sixes off Stuart Clark.

Left arm fast bowler Mitchell Johnson took five wickets and Clark four.

The second test starts in Adelaide on Friday.
