Uniform retailer threatened with legal action

6:40 pm on 16 August 2012

A South Auckland uniform retailer says a local high school is threatening to take legal action against her.

The Uniform Shoppe says Manurewa High School is threatening it with a High Court injunction if it continues to sell the school's uniform without the right supply contract.

Shop managing director Janet Igrisan says the shop has provided uniforms to the school since 1960, but last year missed out on an exclusive contract .

She says parents should be able to choose where they shop and it's unfair one of New Zealand's poorest suburbs is being affected.

Ms Igrisan says she can offer the uniforms more cheaply than her competitor.

Manurewa High School has not been available for comment.
