The Crown has opposed a request by Kim Dotcom for funds to pay for the rent and upkeep of his Auckland home.
The MegaUpload founder, who faces extradition to the United States on fraud charges, wants access to his frozen assets to fund his legal bill, as well as additional living expenses.
Earlier this year, the court agreed to release some of his funds, including $20,000 per month for living expenses.
Lawyer Anne Toohey says the Crown does not oppose releasing funds for legal expenses, but the Crown is concerned about what the funds are being used for.
