CAA has no intention of grounding skydive planes

The Civil Aviation Authority says it will not ground all skydiving planes, despite telling an inquest such a move is possible.
Coroner Richard McElrea has been examining the deaths of nine people in a plane crash at Fox Glacier on 4 September, 2010.
Mr McElrea has heard expert evidence that the passengers had no safety belts and may have slipped down the cabin, causing the plane to become unbalanced and crash.
On Friday, he raised the prospect of grounding skydiving planes until the rules on safety belts are reviewed.
The CAA says it has no intention of ordering that. But it is conducting a review of restraints in skydiving planes.
