Carpark killer appealing against conviction again

Updated at 12:12 pm on 20 August 2012

A man twice found guilty of murdering a woman is appealing against his conviction again.

Christopher Shadrock was retried at the High Court for the murder of Joanne Wang at a supermarket carpark in South Auckland in 2008.

He accelerated into Mrs Wang in a stolen four-wheel-drive after taking her bag. She later died in hospital.

In 2010, Shadrock was sentenced to life in prison. He successfully appealed against the conviction, but was last month again found guilty of murder and the previous sentence of life imprisonment was reimposed.

Four of Shadrock's associates were also convicted for the second time, for destroying evidence.

One of them is also appealing against his conviction again.
