The number of visitors to New Zealand fell 1% in July compared with the same month last year.
Statistics New Zealand says 176,100 visitors arrived, the lowest figure for July since 2007.
But on an annual basis, 2.63 million visitors arrived in New Zealand, up 6% on the previous year.
The big increases came from China and Japan, while tourist numbers from Britain fell.
