Police in Manukau are investigating the death of a man at a rural property in Ramarama.
Officers were called to a house by its occupants at about 2am on on Monday.
They are speaking to several of people there and no one else is being sought.
Police say they know the dead man's name but are advising next of kin and won't release it until Tuesday.
Inquiries are continuing into the man's movements leading up to his death, and police say it may be some time before a decision is made about any charges.
