Breakthrough reported at port talks

A breakthrough is reported in a pay dispute between the Maritime Union and the Ports of Auckland.

It follows a 24-hour strike on Wednesday.

The Maritime Union says it will be return to mediation with the Ports of Auckland with a positive mandate from its members.

Union president Denis Carlisle says the union will be take a "positive proposal" to the table when it meets management again on Tuesday.
